Gastarbyter

The Gastarbyter installation employs mechanical and electronic interfaces and an enveloping chair to link audible and sub-sonic sound, physical vibration and a responsive mercury and neon lighting system. Gastarbyter is a performance-machine that delivers an intense multi-sensual experience with questions around embodiment at its centre. A collaboration between Bruce Gilchrist, Jo Joelson and the NZ based electro-acoustic composer, Dugal McKinnon. An ICA Live Art Commission funded by Arts Council England. Link to video document >>
