A light probe is a process that records environmental light information in the form of High Dynamic Range images (HDRi) for Computer Graphics applications.
As part of our August 2016 residency at Seyðisfjörður, Iceland, we are making a series of probes around the Eastfjords. The probes will be put to use developing the idea of The Contemporary Remote, initially introduced through the Remote Performances (2014) project, which considers how contemporary philosophy and communications technology affects psychological and geographical experiences and concepts of remoteness.
