Low Tide: Writings on Artists' Collaborations

Low Tide

Jeni Walwin

During the nineties inter-disciplinary collaborative practice emerged as one of the most significant art form developments of the decade, yet it received negligible critical attention. This situation was compounded by the ephemeral nature of much of the work and the resulting difficulty in recording and documenting the practice. In response to this, the London Arts Board (now Arts Council England, London) commissioned Jeni Walwin to write about three artist-run projects. The essays analyse the work of artist Bruce Gilchrist, TEA (Those Environmental Artists) and a twenty-four hour project for St Thomas’ Hospital curated by Naomi Siderfin and David Crawforth at Beaconsfield.

Projects cited: Multiple projects by Bruce Gilchrist.
